Overview
The zone encoder is a 19" rack mount audio encoder which works in conjunction with the Merlaud A4868 touchscreen paging console. It is responsible for communicating with any IP devices connected to the system including the zone decoder boxes (A4872), located with each PA zone connected to the system.
To facilitate BGM, school bells, alert and evacuation notices, the encoder broadcasts any alarm or bell signal on an "all call" basis, overriding any BGM or PA selections. Do not disturb option prevents BGM, PA and bell tones, and allows emergency PA/tones only. To simplify installation it has been designed to connect to the Redback A4505B timer (or similar).
This system has been developed in conjunction with leading Australian PA contractors and Merlaud PA products. It is designed to be simple to set up and install, and most importantly easy for the customer to use. There is no complex programming or set up involved and provides paging for up to 24 zones in a single paging system.
This flexible design is ideal for schools, shopping centres and large facilities where multi-zone paging is required between multiple buildings. It bridges the gap between internet protocol (IP) based and traditional 100V line PA systems. All components are designed to be plugged into the building local area network (LAN) and will connect to existing building PA, alarm and bell signalling equipment.
A minimum system comprises of this paging console and the A4865 system encoder. For zoned systems where connection to a traditional PA system is required, A4872 zone decoder can be added. This converts the IP audio back into standard analog stereo RCA for connection to standard PA amplifiers.

We offer 12 months warranty on this product from its date of purchase. This is available from Altronics stores, online purchases or Altronics resellers. In accordance with our full warranty terms we will repair, replace or refund if goods you have purchased from us are defective.
