- For this device to work, the audio settings on a DVD / Blu-ray must be changed to output a lossless PCM digital signal to the coaxial and / or optical outputs. It will not work if another output format is used e.g. Dolby, DTS HD. Supports Digital Audio Format: LPCM (Linear Pulse Code Modulation). LPCM is part of the international standards for DVD, Blu-ray and HDMI. With any setting other than PCM, the signal error LED will light up. With audio output parameters set to PCM, the device will convert a digital 5.1 surround signal input to analogue stereo output from the device, and then into an A/V receiver amplifier or stereo system.
